Prescription Sunglasses

Prescription sunglasses are perfect if you want to shield your eyes from the sun and look cool, but don’t want to walk around squinting to see without your regular glasses. For just that reason, prescription sunglasses were brought to the market.

Even if you wear contact lenses you might like to purchase some prescription sunglasses, because wearing contact lenses to the beach is quite often not a good idea, if you go swimming it can cause serious eye infection. And diving is never a good plan if you’re wearing contact lenses. For this purpose there are prescription swimming goggles on the market as well.

The difference with prescription sunglasses of course is that you can't just walk into a shop, buy them, and walk out again. They have to be ordered and manufactured in the same way as your regular eyeglasses, but on the upside they are available for virtually every lens prescription. Because they usually have to be purchased in an optical shop, they are often more expensive than regular sunglasses. However, quite often optical shops offer you a discount when you purchase your prescription sunglasses at the same time as your regular glasses.
