Motorcycle
Sunglasses
Motorcycle sunglasses, or
biker glasses, are in some ways different from your regular
sunglasses. Biker sunglasses are classed as sports sunglasses.
They need to stay put while you’re riding your bike and prevent
bugs from flying into your eyes in addition to protecting your
eyes from ultraviolet radiation. For them to stay put they have
to be adjusted firmly or, even safer, you can buy wraparound
sunglasses.
Below: Motorcycle sunglasses are every
bit as inventive as other kinds, though they must be built a
little tougher. They are the most streamlined of the sunglass
family, as they need to be somewhat aerodynamic for riding, and
tuck neatly beneath helmets, bandannas, etc.

Some
brands, like Wiley X, offer sunglasses that can be used during
the day as well as the night with interchangeable lenses. These
wraparound sunglasses with interchangeable lenses by Wiley X
can be bought, also online, for prices ranging from about $ 99
and up. There are many makers and prices range from the
cheapest all the way up to hundreds of
dollars.
A new
technique is used to create shatterproof sunglasses; these
are not actually made of glass but with types of quality,
treated plastic, which is much safer because glasses can
shatter during an accident. You can imagine how dangerous that
can be to your eyes!
Another
hot brand of biker sunglasses is made by Orange County
Choppers (OCC), which you might know from the popular show
called American Chopper, where they build custom motorcycles.
Their overwhelming popularity led to huge product marketing,
and now they also have special biker sunglasses with their logo
on them.
